The Outreach Ministry

The purpose of the Outreach Ministry is to be a witness through service in the community — the local missions field. By serving others, we serve God. We want to be active in the community and love our neighbors! He calls us to be compassionate people! In the past, we've participated in serving groceries and cooking meals for AIDS patients, volunteering at the Food Bank, Christmas caroling at a hospital, cleaning up streets, parks, and the zoo, and even building new homes!

City Crossroads

Drug abuse, alcoholism, homelessness, over-crowded housing, gangs and crimes - are everyday problems in the South of Market area near the Tenderloin district in San Francisco. It's also home to the city's highest concentration of children - almost 4,000. Their role models? Pimps, prostitutes, drug dealers, alcoholics and gang bangers. Their alternative? City Crossroads.

City Crossroads is a high-impact non-profit corporation with an intentional ministry to multi-ethnic youth and low-income families. Their holistic approach to urban missions meets the real spiritual, physical, social, educational, emotional and relational needs of the city's children and their families.

Friday night volunteer activities begin with preparing dinner for 50 kids who come to the recreation center located in SOMA. Dinner is served at 6pm, and the fun continues in this inner city recreation center.

CityTeam

In San Francisco, CityTeam is providing hot meals, safe shelter, showers, and clean clothing to this city's homeless population. CityTeam San Francisco has a wonderful, caring staff and volunteers that provide foot care to many needy people each year. A full recovery program is in place for men that are on a road of destruction from drugs and alcohol.

CityTeam is involved in real life situations with the people that walk through our doors. The caring staff at CityTeam, reaches out to those people in need and shows them there is real hope in Christ in order to formulate an everlasting real change in their lives.

Please pray for the people who come through their doors seeking basic necessities such as food and shelter, and also for the people who come to CityTeam wanting to change their lives and seek God's hope for their future.

Also, please pray for their needs as a ministry—that they would have enough food to distribute and provide hot meals for families in need and that we would have enough financial support to keep all of our programs in operation during the holiday season.

Edgewood

Edgewood Center for Children and Families (Edgewood) helps children and families take back their future by working with them to overcome severe challenges like abuse, neglect, mental illness, and family crisis. The oldest children's charity in the western U.S., Edgewood has evolved to meet the community’s changing needs. What began as a refuge for Gold Rush orphans more than 150 years ago is now a nationally recognized, multifaceted agency. Edgewood serves more than 5,000 children and families in the Bay Area each year through community and residential programs.

Volunteer for the Dinner Club, held the last Sunday of every month. Orientation and meal preparation begins at 4:30pm. Expected end time for activity is 7:30pm. Eat with the kids, and get to know them!
